Usage
The Billing page in the dashboard shows your current usage for the active billing period.
What is measured

Storage is measured as an average rather than a peak — if you store 2 TB for half the month and 1 TB for the other half, you are billed for 1.5 TB. Fil One counts storage in decimal units: 1 TB is 1,000 GB, and 1 GB is 1,000,000,000 bytes.
On a paid plan, egress is not charged — there are no egress fees. During the trial, egress is capped (see below).
Trial limits
During the free trial, usage is capped at:
- Storage — 1 TB (1,000 GB): reaching this limit write-locks the account. You can still read and download; new uploads are rejected.
- Egress — 2 TB (2,000 GB), cumulative over the whole trial: reaching this limit disables the account entirely — no read or write access — the same state as trial expiry. This is a single budget for the full 30 days, not a monthly amount that resets.
These caps are enforced by a usage job that runs twice a day (around 07:00 and 19:00 UTC), so you may exceed a cap for a few hours before the account state changes — there is no real-time block at the exact moment you cross it. Upgrading to a paid plan removes both caps immediately.
Versioning and storage costs
If versioning is enabled on a bucket, every version of an object counts as stored storage. Overwriting a 1 GB file 10 times results in 10 GB of stored versions. Consider deleting old versions you no longer need to reduce storage costs. See Versioning.
Billing period
Paid accounts are billed monthly. The billing period resets on the same day each month (the date you first upgraded from trial). Usage resets at the start of each new billing period.
